Mermaids

Nayra, Anne Marie and I were laughing so hard in the water we almost were drowning ..even though we were mermaids. :)
We tried to pose for a serious pic, but that just made us laugh harder!

Wailea Life

After my yoga class I met up with my friend who had a place in Wailea at one of the pools. Since we hardly ever go there we thought we had to take the chance and live it up for a couple hours. Hanging out in the pools, just chillin'..felt so nice like heaven. I came back to the north shore for some strong winds. I had to go out on my 4.0 because I didn't have my 3.7 with me. It was really howling. I hung in there though and practiced my jumping since the waves were small. I tried one backloop today and was kind of close to getting it. So now I am all excited and just want to keep trying them until I get it down!

Kaenon is my new sponsor and am super stoked to finally protect my blue eyes with some stylish shades! This morning I was just testing them out and playing around outside with my dogs. They fit great and make everything look really pretty on the eyes... Loven 'em!

Windsurf Lessons

Ann Marie Reichman and I had a fun windsurf lesson out in Wailea. The kids were getting it down super quick and having a good time. We were impressed. At the end of the day Ann Marie had a little fan club going on and we had requests for some autograph signings and photos. We had tons of fun and glad they were stoked!

photo frenzy

There were photographers on land and in the air today. Ho'okipa was packed full of windsurfers doing photoshots, people making commercials and on lookers. For me the sailing wasn't the best. It was extremely gusty and many times I came so close to the rocks I almost became a "rock star of Ho'okipa";). The wind was super light on the inside, gusty on the outside and on top of that the helicopter made the wind even more strange. I hope tomorrow gets better!

windy and wavey

The waves today weren't so organized. They were pretty messy and sometimes there were mast/ over mast high sets coming in. Kevin Pritchard snapped these shots of me from up on the hill at Ho'okipa.

forecast was right

The wind is back and we were pumped up and ready to get some sailing in today. There were 2-3 foot waves with consistant good wind. I was on my 4.7 when I first went out and could have went a little smaller by the end of my session. I tried out the new Da Kine X-Lace footstraps. They worked really good and are super comfortable. I like how they have the strap on top that you just pull to tighten. Super nice!

Help save the ocean!

Dolphin Massacre in Japan

Dear Friends and lovers of the ocean. Sometimes the ocean needs our
help, and this is one of them!

To view the video is very disturbing, to not act in stopping such
behaviour would be a travesty!

At the very least please sign this online petition. Lovers of the
ocean and it's inhabitants - this is a clear call to action. To do
nothing is to approve of it!

Please take the time to look at the video and sign the online
petition. From little things, big things grow!

And then send it on to as many like minded people that you know. If
we build the numbers, we will be heard eventually and things will
change, one way or the other!

Please help! We must change the way people think about their oceans
and inhabitants for the good of us all.

PLEASE WATCH THIS VIDEO AND SIGN THE PETITION.
Be warned its pretty disturbing.......

Could have been in National Geographics..

After work I headed to Ho'okipa.. of course, and it was absolutely amazing this evening. It was like a switch was turned on with this beautiful sunset that made the water a purpley color, the waves glassed off with perfect fun size, and the best part was there were about 3 or so momma whales with their calfs swimming so close to the break.. It was amazing. They were flapping their fins, and tails, grazing the top of the water, and spouting through their blow holes. They were so playful it was really something to see while your in the water surfing. truely amazing

Sun day

After what happened yesterday I wanted to keep it mellow today. Annita, Melissa and I just hung out at the beach. It was a beautiful day with bigger waves and a little more wind than what it has been.

Seeing Stars

I had a pretty bad wipeout this morning surfing. After the wipe out I felt like the wind almost got knocked out of me and I started seeing some stars but didn't really pay to much attention to it and caught another wave. This wave didn't help because when I came up for air the board was flying down and hit me on the head. It hurt a little but I still didn't think much of it and kept surfing. Later, I came in and everything felt fine until my drive home and my head was aching like crazy. I couldn't even move and then I started to feel nauseous. We started to become concerned because I had the symptoms of a head concussion or something. So, I have just been resting the rest of the day and making sure to get up every hour or so. It feels better and better now so I think by tomorrow I will be fine, at least I hope because the surf was super fun today until this all happened.
