I love turtles!

This morning I went for a morning surf session out at Pavilions. There were so many turtles out today. One time I was paddling for a wave and I pet a turtle underneath me on accident! These turtles aren't afraid of surfers at all. They just hang around.
Later, I went windsurfing and the wind was really up and down. I was on a 4.5 and sometimes it was perfect and other times I could barely hold on. Typical Ho'okipa but always fun.
Now, I am off to my favorite class, astronomy. Seriously, I love this class it is so cool!

tune up

Paige and I were just working on our jetski getting it tuned up. There is no big swell on the way but we needed to pay some attention to the ski giving it some love.

All Smiles

After Yoga I met up with my windsurf buddy from Brazil, Juliana. Her and her boyfriend from Isreal made a traditional bread from Isreal that takes a lot of preparation and time to make and shared it with all of us at the beach. Spreks was full of action with kitesurfers, windsurfers, friends learning to windsurf, eating the special bread and just hanging out on the beach.
Later, my friend Melissa and I went to the south side to go surfing, We surfed a while then headed to Ka'anapali to go pool hopping. Lots of fun!

School and sail

I went to my lab class today and learned all about density, forces, and pressure. Some fun facts that the teacher told us was that if your surfing and distribute your pressure across more of the board you will go faster. The other fun fact was that if your at the bar get a alcoholic drink you know if there is a lot of alcohol in it if the ice is on the bottom rather than floating on top due to the different densities of alcohol and water.

After class I went straight to Ho'okipa and had a really fun windsurf session. This is the second day in a row that the waves have been really good and have been completely uncrowded. I think its because all the guys are in Cabo Verde at the PWA event.

Here comes the sun

The stormy weather went away and left a beautiful perfectly windy day to enjoy. I met up the Anne Marie and Tiffany for a session at Camp One. We were the only ones out having the entire place just for us girls. The waves were perfect for practicing jumps. The only thing we had to look out for was when the reef popped up out of no where because it was so shallow.

Also, this morning I was so stoked because I came up with my version of a healthy coffee drink. I always put soy milk but this morning I added chocolate soy milk for the first time. Then I added a couple drops of Stevia which is a natural sweetener with no sugar. It was so good. You've got to try it!

Windsurfing!

I had to help do yard work in the morning and felt the trade winds tease me while I shoveled away. Finally, the trade winds were blowing back to normal and I knew Ho'okipa must be fun. I got down there and it was, a little gusty but still fun.

Soggy dollars

I went to yoga this morning and practiced on balancing my "shakras and shivas", dolphin pose and a lot of other difficult poses. After I had some family friends visiting from the mainland, so I thought we should go to the south side for surfing. The waves were super tiny, like ankle high so they did a lot of paddling around while I tried to push them into the waves.
My friend forgot to take out his phone and wallet from his pocket. So, we had to spread it out on the dashboard hoping to revive the soggy dollars, but had no hope from the cell phone...Opps!

Another day at Honolua Bay

My friend Paige and I headed out to the west side for an evening session. It was really firing today, a lot bigger than the day before. As the boogie boarder next to me said as we paddled back out to the break " that wave was a f*^@#en waddle!" and I couldn't have agreed more. The waves had so much energy being thrown into these massive barrels. I saw one guy get the standup barrel of the day. It was amazing.

I decided to bring my two dogs with me, but probably shouldn't have. They went wondering everywhere and I was trying to get them tied up. Bella ( one of the dogs) was doing fine walking with me back to my truck when all of a sudden she decided to jump inside the front seat of a lady's Lexus! I couldn't believe it! I freaked out grabbing her off of the white leather seats and apoligized several times telling her I will be right back with a towel. Luckfully, she was a cool surfer girl that just started laughing and told me no worries. Phuuu!

Honolua Bay

I went to college this morning and saw Ho'okipa closing out so didn't feel so bad passing up surfing for class. My teacher was feeling sick so he let us out early. This way I had a big enough break between classes to head out to the Bay for a couple hours and get back to college by 4:00. I was stoked because I got out there and it was a mellow crowd, fun waves, a little overcast, but everyone out was catching some real nice rides!

Ho'okipa

These photos are from yesterday out at Ho'okipa. It was super fun little glassy playful waves. Kevin Pritchard swam out and snapped these shots for me.
